Turning Lemons into Lemonade

Or in my case...turning a ruined photo album into something even better and more beautiful :)
~~~~~~
A while back, I had a brain drain while trying to engrave one of my leather photo albums. I didn't focus the laser properly and ruined not one, but two albums before I figured out what the problem was *headdesk*! I thought I might try and decorate these with some flowers and scrapbook embellishments and still be able to use them or give them as gifts. But I came up with an even better idea the other day :)
I made this beautiful Wood Photo Album! I love the bigger size and all the possibilities it holds! I cut the inside photo pages from the "ruined" albums and bound them in the wood album! Genius!
I love this design, but don't want to ruin anymore albums to be able to make more! So I went in search of more pages like these and was able to find some double photo pages like these from one of my suppliers! So I'll be able to make many more of these :)
And of course, I'll be able to personalize them any way my customers like!
~~~~~~
Have you made any "lemonade" lately?

i'm glad it all worked out! the wooden albums are gorgeous!

I almost never throw out a "ruined" project because there is always some way to use a part of it for something else. good for creativity, not good for my hoarding tendencies :)

Very cool photo album! It's nice when you are able to take something that did not turn out the way you wanted and come up with a brand new design.

The wooden albums are great! My baby book (WAY back in the day) had wooden covers.

Good save, love it when that happens! Wooden albums are fantastic, and the bigger size is great. You're right, it holds LOTS of possibilities!! :)

Oh, I've missed so many of your posts, I just remembered to sign up to get them delivered to my inbox! :) I love this idea, the wood is really beautiful. Usually when I 'mess' something up I walk away and wait for inspiration to strike. If often means something better is on the way. :)

Cute! It's always nice when you can take something you've made a mess of and turn it into something great that you would have never thought of otherwise!

What a perfect solution! These new albums will be great. It's awesome that you can order double photo pages for future albums.

One things I like about beading is that most of the time if things don't work out, you can cut it apart and start over. This has definitely happened to me a handful of times.

Isn't it amazing what we come up with during these challenging times? Sometimes we surprise ourselves. The album came out beautiful.

Great solution for the leather! Can you use the leather for anything else, such as cuffs?

cool album!
I think we all create lemons! Sometimes these can be made into awesome lemonade.
One of my favorite "lemonades" happened when I was dyeing a shirt for a customer. She wanted it green with some white. I forgot about the white and dyed it solid green. Whoops! I then squirted on bleach to take out some of the green dye. Well, it didn't turn white, it turned turquoise! I liked this so much better than the white and the customer did, too! After that, I did this on purpose.
