My First Tattoo

Well, I survived the tattoo!!! I'm not gonna lie, it did hurt. But it was worth any ounce of pain. And within an hour after getting it, I was totally pain free. I was so excited they let us take pictures in the shop.

Here I am getting ready. Right now he's just putting on the transfer and getting things prepped...so I'm still all smiles.

This is pretty much the face I made through the whole thing...lol! I shut my eyes, bit my lip and squeezed my leg. But no tears :)

The outline was the worst part, but the shading wasn't quite as bad. I managed a half smile here while he's doing the shading.

And I'm all smiles at the end :)

 For those that didn't catch my Friday post, this is a memorial tattoo for my brother. He loved tattoos and Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd was always his song. He sure would have loved my tattoo!

Summer is still here :)

As many of you have Back-to-School on the brain...I'm here to tell you that summer is still here! Well, it still is at my house anyway :)

One of our blog carnival choices from Storybeader this week is to talk about what we've been doing this summer. I thought I'd put a little twist on it and tell you what I've got coming up yet this summer :) August is going to be a busy month!

Last night was the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert...and it rocked!!! Here are a few pics I took.

Next weekend we are headed to the Iowa State Fair. We always have so much fun at the fair! Lots of Jesse's family goes and we love to spend time with them :) Here's a great photo of me and Jesse's aunt playing with one of the bands last year...so cool!!!

And then the last weekend of August we are going with Jesse's entire family down to Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri. We are going to spread his grandma's ashes and enjoy being together as a family! He really has a wonderful family and I'm so glad to be a part of it :)

And then comes Labor Day! Another busy time! My hometown has a huge celebration each year complete with a carnival, parade, demolition derby, and all the other goodies that go along with a big celebration. And for us that is usually the end of summer. One final hoorah before we start to think about fall.

I hope everyone reading this has had a wonderful summer and that there are still good times to come :)

WooHoo!!! We're getting ready to head to the concert soon!!!

I checked out our seats online and they look pretty good! Row K...so at least we're not in the nose-bleeds. Hey, for free tickets...they look GREAT to me :)
