Spring Glorious Spring!!!

Yippee...the first day of Spring :) Even though today was only 55, the wind was blowing and the skies were cloudy...I was still in an upbeat mood just knowing it was the first day of Spring!
And then I went to get the mailbox and came across this little guy!
We redid the dirt work around our house last fall and had to tear out all the flowers to do so. I just figured I'd redo them this year. But to my surprise, this strong little trooper made it through all the work and replanted himself :) It sure was a nice surprise to find him sitting there in the dirt. It was as if he was yelling to me...Look At Me...Look At Me!!! A yellow beauty amongst all that brown :)
This is one of the many things I think of when I think of Spring...The first sign of flowers. The birds have been chirping, the grass has started to turn green in areas, the temperatures are warming, and I am dying to get outside...yup...spring is in the air :)

  1. I love Spring and flowers and the warmth returning to the earth. It didn't make it out of the 40s where I live, but that's OK. Before long it will be hot!
It was as warm as 70 a couple days ago and we have crocuses and daffodils blooming.

I miss flowers. I'm in Northern Alberta, Canada and we're buried under snow still!!!

  5. The original homeowner of this old house was a prolific gardener. My hubby did not take great care with the yards but there were amazingly tough beauties still around when we met and married. I LOVE how something creeps up on you to surprise in such a nice way!

  7. Oh those are beautiful. Thankfully I don't need my own colourful garden to put a spring in my step this time of year. I only have succeeded in growing weeds. Well, weeds have feelings too.
