Trend Watch - Nautical

I always try to keep up on the latest trends when it comes to my shop. I don't always look for the hottest trends, but the ones that I feel will be around for a while and ones that I personally love. The latest trend I've been loving is the Nautical Trend.

I've been seeing anchors everywhere lately. They're so fun and make me want to board the next available cruise ship! (even despite the recent cruise ship disaster!) I was recently asked to make the card above for an anniversary. I had made a similar one a while back for a birthday card and hadn't even considered turning it into an anniversary card. I love it!

I had also just completed making these cuff links and matching tie tack around the same time the custom request came in...I call that fate :)

You can bet you'll be seeing this anchor design on a wedding invitation soon as well!

What trends have you been loving lately?

  2. Great design, I love the whole nautical-thing. I am waiting for some anchor beads to arrive and I love the red, white and blue colour combo.

  3. Love the anchor design. I'm glad to see navy blue coming back. I've been lucky to tap into the chevron trend--and the jungle and woodlands trends for babies.

  4. You know I love it! You're right, I have seen an increasing number of anchors recently. I guess you could say nautical already was my main trend, but I'm really trying to figure out some softer, springier things, as well.

  6. Because we live in a water oriented part of the state and there is a large Navy community, the nautical theme is everywhere. I never get tired of seeing it and I think your items will do well.

  7. Another great idea Edi! How the heck do you keep everything straight? Your variety is so huge I'd be stressing over keeping inventory and getting things ready. Maybe that's because I'm a worry wart huh?

  11. Nautical themes are a good, classic trend. They had a bit boost in popularity when my sister and I were in high school, and we could always joke about people buying clothes for a boat trip.

  13. These are awesome! Nautical style has always been a big part of my life. Not only do I live along the shores of Lake Michigan, my dad spent many years in the US Navy.

Love all these, especially the card.
