Mother's Day & Father's Day Cards

With Easter out of the way, the next holidays we'll be celebrating here in the US are Mother's Day and Father's Day. As one of my goals for 2013, I've been  working on new card designs and what better designs to work on than ones for Mom and Dad :)

I also learned a handy little trick to make my digital samples look more like the real engraved deal! I love how the wedding invitation with this flower turned out, so I used the same design for this Mother's Day card. Give Mom a flower that will last forever :)
(I'm still working on making the white area look like wood.)

I came up with several designs for Dad.

I'd love to hear which is your favorite and if you have other suggestions. I'm trying to decide if I'll engrave a sample for all of these or just list one or two. What do you think?

I especially like the first one!

  2. I think you can list the ones without the white--I was wondering how you bleached/painted the wood for the flower one when I first saw it.

I am so bad about preparing/marketing for holidays and events like Mother's Day. This is a good reminder.

  4. These are great Edi!! I think customers can get a good idea from the examples, without you having to engrave samples. I love the idea of a forever keepsake card like these. My favorite is the first one, and I think the Deer card will be a big seller.

  8. The last two Father's Day cards made me laugh. :D My dad would love the fishing one! I haven't even thought about Mother's Day or Father's Day, but you're right that they will be coming up soon! I better get on that if I'm going to add anything related to my shop. :)

The floral one is so pretty. Cool, how you made the digital version look like wood :)

  14. I think the mustache is my favorite. If you are taking ideas, I love to decorate my "dad" stuff with tie images. Golf, geek stuff, and tractors come to mind.

  16. Those are great ideas Edi and good for you for being on top of the holidays too! None of those Fathers Day cards would work for my dad but yet I don't know what would. He doesn't fit in any normal categories. Oh wait, he likes watching racing! A lot of help that is huh?

  20. I love the first one!

Another idea for Dad would be to make the sayings reflect being given by a mom to the father of her children. (although the mustache one would work
