Back In Stock!

After a long hiatus (due to a poor supplier) my Wooden Recipe Boxes are finally back in stock! I was so excited to find a new supplier who handles their shipping with care.

I've already sold 2 of these since relisting them over the weekend! And I hope to add new designs to the mix now that I have a reliable source.

What do you do when you have issues with a supplier? Have you ever had to discontinue an item due to a poor supplier? I'd love to hear your stories in the comments.

  1. So happy you found a new supplier before wedding season kicks into high gear! Other than a couple of horror stories dealing with specially-ordered items for custom orders, I've had a great experience with my suppliers, thankfully.

  3. Good for you! I just love to hear about everyone's successes. I find it so inspiring!

Love this box. Even though a lot of my recipes are on the computer, I have a whole bunch that I've clipped from magazines along with some that are in my grandmother's writing. This would be the best place to keep all those. Such a keepsake!

  4. What an awesome keepsake. I have a wooden recipe box that my mom found for me at a yard sale. It's monogrammed with her maiden name, so it's kind of random. I love it though. I just started working with a wholesale frame supplier, but so far no bites.

  5. It is so frustrating when someone you rely on suddenly stops carrying something or becomes unreliable! I'm glad you've found a supplier for your recipe boxes again.

  6. Today is the day for poor supplier stories! I just now came back from a Fabric shop and saw your post. I ordered a piece of fabric (for a custom order) online on the 19th--actually I was in the store on the 19th, but they would not cut the piece that I wanted, because it was from the online dept. I had to place my order online then come back when they called me/emailed me that it was ready. The clerk told me they were not allowed to cut the other dept's fabric! anyway, I waited a week, then called them! They said they phoned me to tell me it was ready on the 20th! but I checked both of our phones and no such call was in the call log, nor were there any voicemails. Anyway, I finally called them, and when I picked it up today, the 27th, you bet I complained!

  7. Sweet recipe boxes -- I'm glad you found a new supplier before wedding season sets in and things get crazy! I don't have to order many things, but I do get really frustrated when a color of yarn that I like get discontinued. Sometimes you just can't find a good replacement.

  8. That's a relief!
My silk scrunchie supplier no longer can get them. I looked into making them from scratch myself, but it would not be profitable. I don't think the market would bear a large increase in price.

  9. Oh, I know that feeling. Yes I have discontinued buying from a supplier after messing up a few orders. Once is ok, but multiple times is too much for me. :) I'm glad you found a better suppliers for your boxes.

  10. Ugh, poor suppliers are the WORST. I have several stories, but one of the most memorable was a fellow Etsy seller who deals mostly with antique lace and findings. I bought these elaborate pearl collars from her and turned them into necklaces. Well, I got an order of them and the pearls were falling off! I sent her a message, which was very polite, and she got SUPER defensive and blamed me for doing something wrong to them. What? I haven't even used them yet! Because they're broken! It was a huge fiasco and it took forever for her to replace my order. And of course, I had a bride waiting. I never used her shop again and had to stop selling that piece even though it was really popular. I just couldn't rely on her anymore.
