It's been a busy couple of weeks, but the highlight was definitely Gladys' First Car Show! It was so fun getting her out and showing her off! But I will say, it was a lot of work too. Shamee-ing (spelling?) a station wagon takes forever! But it was well worth it :)
And Jesse took our '39 Chevy as well. It was so cool having both cars at the show!
While we didn't win any prizes, we had a great day. I love looking at all the other beautiful cars and talking with other car enthusiasts. It's always fun to tell people how Gladys got her name and how she is a 4th generation family car. You sure don't see many Ramblers around anymore, so she always gets lots of looks!
One really cool thing we saw was etched car windows! How cool would it be to put Gladys' name on one of the windows!! Of course the glass has to be taken out and put back in, but it might just happen!
We have some friends that are completely restoring and old Dodge car and don't have glass in it yet. They loved the idea of having their daughter-in-law draw something special and having me etch it on their windows! Who knew these lasers had so many possibilities!
My goodness, Gladys is looking spiffy! She totally deserves the attention she got--I imagine she'll be going to more car shows in the future!
ReplyDeleteGladys is an awesome car! So unique. I'm not surprised people admired her :) Sounds like you and Jesse had so much fun at the show!
ReplyDeleteVery cool!!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I'm so glad you got to take her and Jesse was able to take the other car too! Not only is there not many Ramblers but even fewer hot pink ones! :)
ReplyDeleteHow fun! You guys have the coolest cars! Jesse's makes me think gangsta. Etching a window would be awesome. I'm seeing a whole new line for your business here!
ReplyDeleteSo cool! I bet Gladys turned a few heads!
ReplyDeleteGladys looks fabulous! An etched window would be so cool :)

ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing how her windows get etched...
Very nice! Both cars are awesome. Haven't been to a car show in years! Attended a few with my first husband; he had belonged to a car Club when he was a teen. I should go again sometime! I'm sure there is more fun on the horizon for you and Gladys!

ReplyDeleteVery cool! Going to car shows seems like a lot of fun. That does sound like a neat way to use a laser - hope you get to show off a new laser project soon!
ReplyDeleteOoooo! Beautiful! What fun to etch a window. My BFF in high school had a Rambler! I'll have to send her a link to your blog so she can see yours. :)
