Birthday Present Wrap Up

Okay, I promise this is the last post I'll do about my birthday. Hey, it was my 30th! I can dag it out, right :)

But I wanted to show off a few other awesome gifts I received.

I went to lunch with my grandparents last week (as my grandma's birthday is 2 days after mine) and she surprised me with these pretty little flowers. She told me she had never seen miniature daffodils and wanted to share them with me :)

Jesse's mom got me this pretty multimedia piece and I think it suits me pretty well :) I love the colors, the design and of course the saying! I already have it hanging in my "studio".

I also received these photographs from fellow Etsy seller and friend, Rose from Random Creative. Rose has taken her photography to a whole new level over the last year and I'm so happy she shared some of her work with me! She knows how much I love pink, so she sent me 3 different pink flower prints :)

I hung these right next to my new art piece.

I'm so happy to get to start enjoying these new pretties around my home :)

New Art

Yesterday on the Blogging Business Artisans Blog, I was a guest blogger and talked about Mixed Media Art. I'm in complete awe of mixed media as it's something I've not been able to master! So imagine my surprise when my very own art pieces showed up in my mail box yesterday afternoon!

Erika of Artful Rising sent me a gift for being a finalist in her contest. Not only did I get a print of one of her original mixed media pieces...I got TWO!

I was having a hard time deciding which one to frame and hang on the wall when I remembered I had taken down my wall words and I had three nails still in the wall. I already have one frame on the wall, so the addition of these two will go perfectly! I can't wait to get them hung!

Friday Features - Fall Leaf Art

My favorite thing about fall, by far, are the gorgeous colors of the leaves! I can drive around town for hours just looking at all the beautiful colors! And I love how they change everyday!

Artist vs. Crafter

The age old question when it comes to the art world: Are you an artist or a crafter? And do you feel there is a difference?

I am one of those people who feels that everyone is an artist :) I like to think of every layout, album, greeting card, etc. I make to be a small work of art. I put my heart and soul into my work and consider it all to be art.

There are those people out there that feel you can only call yourself an artist after you've gone to college and received an art degree...I say phooey! You learn the most about art from creating it :)

So whether you call yourself a crafter or an artist...I guess my biggest piece of advise is to just have fun in whatever you do :) That's what makes it special!!!
