This month it's my turn to host the Blogging Business Artisans Challenge. My topic...Back to School.
"With the little ones headed back to school this time of year, create a
fun back to school project. It could be something fun to do with the
kids, something for them to give their teacher or just one last fun
thing to do with them before they return to school.
Don't have kids, tell us what this time of year means for you. Do you still love to play with school supplies? Do you love that the local spots won't be so crowded with tourists?
Tell us all about it in a blog post."

I have to admit that I still peruse the school supplies every year, even though I haven't been in school for several years now. There is just something about fresh new supplies!
But instead of buying this year, I made one of the supplies myself! I always have tons of paper left over after making guest books. And I have tons of chipboard left over after making name albums. So I put the 2 together and made myself a nice little notebook. I always take tons of notes during the holiday season to keep orders straight, so this will be coming in handy very soon!
That is such a cute and useful book! I love the typography you used :)

ReplyDeleteSo elegantly resourceful, too. Major kudos!!! :D
ReplyDeleteVery cute.... and a great way to use up the leftovers!
ReplyDeleteI love your new notebook! New supplies make me happy. Each year I treat myself to a fabulous planner and have fun filling it up.
ReplyDeleteI -love- fresh notebooks and supplies. I don't buy them because I tell myself it's the organization I want, not the planners, but a new one every now and then is so nice :)
ReplyDeleteYour notebook is beautiful. Perfectly elegant.
I like looking at school supplies too and always enjoy journals! Love what you did with your's! I've discovered that I really dislike making journals so have been weeding them out of my shop.
ReplyDeleteVery cool notebook. I like the rings you used to bind it. Maybe a new item for craft fsirs or Etsy?
ReplyDeleteThanks LeAnn :)
DeleteI've considered it :) I just need to decide what all to do with the cover. I tried adding color, but that didn't go so well...lol!
I use school supplies a lot, too! and I always think it would be nice to be able to make my own. I love your notebook!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I really love small notebooks and I probably have way more than I really need (but that doesn't stop me from wanting more when I see cute ones!).
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect way to use leftover materials--you transformed stuff that would've been thrown away into something so useful AND pretty! I'm not sure what it is about school supplies that can still get us all excited, no matter what age we are!
