Beautiful photo. I remember watching all the space launches with my little brother when we were kids, beginning with Alan Shepard in 1961. They were huge national events. In this century, shuttle launches rarely made the front page, and now, with loss of NASA funding, astronauts will just be names in my grandchildren's history books. If space travel is privatized, it won't be the same.

ReplyDeleteEvery time I see something like that, I'm reminded of when I was growing up in Florida, and could look up and see the space shuttle in the sky. :)
