It's that time of year! Everywhere you look and everything you hear has to do with the fair! It's in the papers and on the radio...It's Fair Time! The county fairs are in full force here in Iowa right now! I always enjoyed my years in 4-H and I'm glad to see it's a tradition that has held strong :) Today's features are all about the fair!

What a sweet photo of the horse :)
ReplyDeleteFairs always remind me of candy apples, which my mom bought me as a kid!
The mixed media piece is fun!
ReplyDeleteWe live down the road where they hold fairs and horse shows. They are gearing up for one of the largest shows and you can tell by the extra traffic on the main road. Soon, I will be able to hear the music from my bedroom!
Loved this post. The photos brought back memories of the sights and sounds and tastes and smells of the county fair (4-H Achievement Days) and SD State Fair (staying in the 4-H dorm) from my youth!
ReplyDeleteHappy times.

ReplyDeleteSo good that old traditions remain.
I love the fair!! These picks really got me thinking it's that time of year again and I want to ck when ours is since it'll be our first here. I adore that mixed media art piece.
ReplyDeleteFun finds! The Delaware State Fair just opened last night, but I think I'll stay out of the heat. ;D

How fun! I love the candy coated apples, they look so yummy.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the last photo, I could almost smell and feel the horse!
ReplyDeleteOh the sights and sounds and tastes of the fair!
I love this post because I have never been to a county fair and have always been totally fascinated by them! I just picture in my mind funnel cakes and cotton candy and games and rides. It's just one of those things I never did growing up in the city. One day I will! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous! Oklahoma fairs don't start till September!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a summer feature! I love the first print of the Ferris wheel.
ReplyDeletegreat ferris wheel art. Looks kinda scary!
ReplyDeleteIn my town, our birthday is August 7th, and there's usually a parade and rodeo (for the weekend). They are not having the parade this year because it's so hot and the horses can't take the heat! I could hardly believe it, when I heard! No parade!? {:-D
Love, love, love caramel apples!
ReplyDeletethose pics are amazing! loved the horse :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pics! I haven't been to the fair in years. I love seeing pictures from them. They are so American!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun fair items! We really only see fairs in the fall in Massachusetts. They are so great....especially for the stomachache causing foods. I can never resist the french fries, cotton candy and such!
ReplyDeleteOk Edi, hand over one of those candied apples...used to love those. Haven't been to a fair in ages but you made me remember one of my favorite things, still one of my favorite things. COTTON CANDY. Love that stuff, probably rotting teeth as you eat it but what can I say, I love it.
