This past weekend was a busy one filled with work on the studio as well as some fun family time on the river. Friday we left for Menard's around 11 am and finally returned home around 6 pm. After finally unloading the truck and parking the trailer, we made it in the house about 8:30 pm! It was a LONG day, but well worth it. Menard's was having an 11% rebate, so we bought as much as we could.
Here's the trailer full of sheeting and 119 2x4s. Luckily my job was to keep count and not load the trailer :)
The back of the truck is full of my flooring and insulation. And the back seat is full to the brim to with a kitchen sink, bathroom sink and toilet.
When we got home we unloaded the flooring out of the pickup and stacked it in the living room...one...box...at...a...time! My body's not used to that manual labor anymore!
But Saturday was spent relaxing :) We went air boating with both of Jesse's brothers and families. It was the first time we'd all gotten out together all summer long! We boated all day and into the early night getting off the river just before dark.
We ran into this really cool structure. We're not sure if it was a walking bridge at one time or just there to help keep the railroad bridge from taking abuse from the current.
Sunday was spent mostly relaxing. Jesse got to fix our trailer (after the boat tried to fall off!). And I got to nurse a burnt hand (after trying to save the boat!). Luckily the boat, the trailer and my hand are all okay :)
How was your weekend?
Unloading the stuff must've been exhausting! Loving the new sink :)
ReplyDeleteScary accident - so glad your hand is okay!!
What a full weekend!!! The airboating must have been the perfect way to relax after the manual labor. Of course there had to be a glitch with the trailer, right? LOL
ReplyDeleteLots going on at your house! can't wait to see how the reno comes together! Hope you're resting up after all that work :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you got to relax after all that work! You can say you had everything AND the kitchen sink in your backseat!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a fun weekend except for the darned trailer! How exciting to get a new studio from scratch. It will be fun to watch the progress.
ReplyDeleteYou deserved to play hard after all that work on Friday. But 11% of a purchase that big is a LOT of money saved, so I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run. So happy that you had some fun times on the river --and grateful your hand is healing.
ReplyDeleteI love weekends like that, where you work really hard then get rewarded with relaxation and fun. That is such a long time to be at Menards! So worth it though. You must be thrilled about your studio. I'm excited for you!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have that mix of work and play during the weekend! Looks like you had perfect weather for boating.

Oh man, you deserve a big gold start for clocking that much time at Menards. (Which, by the way, is my favorite hardware store.) I'm really excited to see how your new studio comes together! Seems like it's rolling along pretty quickly. :-)
