With college back in full swing and Rush underway for sororities, this is a great time to buy your big sister or little sister a great gift :) I've sold a couple of these Sorority Albums lately and think the timing has to do a lot with it! My Thoughts On Mondays

I heard this song by Shania Twain the other day while at work and thought it really summed up how I feel about Mondays...and life in general. Things may get us down and test our patience, but in the end...tomorrow's another day and everything will work out in the end :) So I give you C'est La Vie by Shania Twain: C'est La Vie lyrics It must be Monday! Work and House Updates

Well...not much to update on the house, unfortunately! It's been pretty rainy and windy here in Iowa all week. We did get our power line buried, but now we have to wait for the crew to come take down the old line still attached to the house...so that is delaying us also. We've done a little finish work here and there, but for the most part, not much work this week. As for work...I think that needs a daily update sometimes! Tomorrow I will start back on day shift in a different department (assembly). I will train on days for 3 weeks and then go back to night shift. Supposedly I am scheduled to go back to my old job (the job I am supposed to be doing this whole time, but got downsized out of) in mid November. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this happens. I miss my old job! And if all goes as planned (fingers crossed again) I will be on vacation Dec. 21, 22 and 23!!! My parents arrive Dec. 19, so that will mean extra time with them :) I hope you have all had a great week and that the coming week is even better :)

Friday Features-Fall is in the Air

Here in Iowa...fall is very much upon us. Our weather has cooled down quite a bit, but there is always a warm day thrown in here and there. This week it was 35 degrees one morning and 65 degrees the next...yup...Fall in Iowa!

A quick search for Fall+EtsyBloggers gave me these wonderful listings!!! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do :)

First up are the Nature's Beauty Earrings from BeadedTail! The leaves with the orange crystal just scream Fall :)

And with the weather getting cool very quickly, I thought this beautiful Purple Wrap Shawl from LazyTCrochet would keep someone warm on a chilly day! Don't you just love the color :)

Fall always seems to put me in jammie-mood. When I get off work in the mornings, I just want to come home and throw on my jammies and create :) These cute little Sweet Ruffles Lounge Pants from VeryVerdant may be for girls, but they sure look comfy to me :)

Another thing fall gets me in the mood for is more long, hot baths! Oh the joys of a nice warm bath...Ahhhhh! How great would this Vermont Foliage Glycerin Soap from SpottedCowSoaps look in the bathroom while I'm soaking away!

Use That Memorabilia

If you're anything like me...I tend to be a pack rat! And then you throw in being a scrapbooker and I have a hard time throwing anything away! You never know when you can use it on a layout :)

Today I thought I'd show you a few ways to use memorabilia on scrapbook layouts. Why store it away when it can be displayed in your albums along with your photos :)

For this layout I put the actual graduation medal on the page with extra strength adhesive. It made a nice border, don't you think? I also added the professional graduation invitation. There was nothing on the back, so I was able to adhere it down and you can still open it and see the inside.

And on this two page layout, instead of using the entire diploma...I scanned it and downsized it to fit nicely among all the photos. I also included the graduation program and the special invitation I made for the event. Both of these will also open so you can still see the inside :)

Worried about your memorabilia being acid free and safe for your scrapbooks? Worry not :) You can test your items with a pH pen and spray them with a deacidifier such as Make It Acid Free by Krylon.

So go ahead...get that memorabilia out of a box and into your scrapbooks :)
