Mistake? What Mistake :)

Over the weekend I attended my cousin's baby shower. I knew I wanted to make her something personalized since they had the baby's name chosen and colors and decor for his nursery.

I decided on a cute painted sign with his name and some arrows on it. I thought I had this designed to fit the entire board, but got my dimensions off and only engraved 12 inches instead of 18! Many times when "mistakes" occur in engraving, there isn't much to do in ways of fixing it. But I was determined to find a way to make this sign work. That's when I came up with the idea to add a wooden frame! I cut the frame and a second wooden piece as a ledge to go behind it that the picture can just be slid into from the top.

Viola! Mistake? What Mistake :)

Friday Features - Baseball Baby Shower

2016 must be the "year of the baby"! Jesse and I currently have 5 cousins that are pregnant. That's a whole lot of baby showers and celebrating! The first shower will be held tomorrow and my cousin and his wife are having a baby boy with a baseball-themed shower. As usual, I wanted to make something special as a gift and I wanted to tie in with the theme. I came up with this cute picture frame for their Little Slugger :)

And since it's Friday, I went browsing for some other cute baseball themed baby gifts as well. Enjoy these finds!

Friday Features - Jungle Baby

Today's features are inspired by a recent custom order I had for an adorable Jungle Baby Shower Guest Book. The jungle theme is so cute and it can be done up for boys or girls depending on the color scheme you choose. The nice thing about wood...it's gender neutral :)

Baby Shower Guest Book

I've been making Wedding Guest Books for a while now and love coming up with new cover designs and I love taking requests for special pages on the inside. My mind hadn't even considered to offer other styles of guest books!

Thanks to my customers (again!) I have another new listing in my shop! It's a Woodland Baby Shower Guest Book! I had this design offered as a photo album and got the request to make it into a guest book.

Now my brain is busy thinking of other designs for baby showers as well as other events guest books can be used for!

Have I mentioned how much I love my customers :)

Marley's Nursery Frame

On Sunday I attended one of my best friend's baby showers. I'm so excited for her and wanted to make her a super special gift for her baby girl's nursery :) You knew I wouldn't get her a store bought gift, right!

It took me a while to decide what to make her since it had to be special...and personalized. I'll be making her scrapbooks later, but wanted her to have something for the shower. Here's what I came up with.

She's not in to pink, so I used a light yellow and grey, which matches the nursery colors. And I told her we can paint the frame as well, but I wanted her to choose the color for that. I'm so glad she loved it!!!

One Lucky Girl

A friend of mine is headed to a baby shower this weekend and the soon-to-be little girl is one lucky baby :) Not only is she getting a Custom Name Album...she's also getting my new Engraved Baby Photo Album too!

I just added these this morning! They come in either hot pink or light blue...perfect for a shower gift!!! I hope to add other colors soon too for Family, Vacation or Fun Times albums!

Gifts for Baby

Everyone loves to give a unique and special gift to a new baby and parents. I love giving my albums as gifts as I know no one else will give one too :) I recently relisted these Baby's First Year Calendar Albums with new photos! Baby Oh Baby!

Two of my most recent Custom Name Albums have been for baby shower gifts. I love how each one is unique and special! And no one else at the shower will be giving the same thing...that you can be sure of!

I hadn't used this color combo before and I love how it turned out. The buyer wanted muted yellow, green and creme with a hint of hot pink. I like how the "I" stands out and brings it all together at the same time :)

Light blue, navy and white is a color combo I use a lot for baby boy albums. I like how the navy gives it the right amount of kick along with the traditional baby blue and white :)

My New Nephew

I am so excited I get to meet my new great-nephew tomorrow :) We are having the baby shower and of course I had to make him a name album and a card! Cute little Hayden....I can't wait to see him :)
