Baby Name Album - Elephants

My most recent custom name album was for an adorable baby book. The nursery is decorated in mainly elephants with a few other jungle animals as well. I had so much fun finding cute embellishments for this book!

Nathan's Elephant Book
(sorry for the terrible photos, these pastels made them hard to edit!)

Adorable elephant embellishments

And other cute little jungle animals

I have these books deactivated in my shop as I catch up on 4 other albums! I will relist them as soon as possible, but they won't be in my shop for long. I will be deactivating them again in early November (or sooner if orders require it). So if you've been thinking about a custom name album for a Christmas gift, please contact me so I can ensure your order :)

New Name Albums

I recently completed another set of Custom Name Albums. As always, I love the different themes and color combos my customers request. This most recent order had such a fun variety.

Brooklyn is in love with science and is especially in love with the solar system. Her book was all about the sun and planets. Each page had a different planet stick as well as the name of the planet on it.

Raven is the wild child and has a love for anything zebra print. Her favorite color is purple, so of course her book is too.

Dante is the sports nut. He plays everything from soccer to baseball and everything in between. I used primary colors for this book to help tie in all the different sports.

Hayden's favorite colors are pink and lime green and she loves mermaids. Not really The Little Mermaid from the movie, just mermaids in general. Along with her pink and lime green, I added a teal blue which reminded me of the ocean and her cute mermaids.

I'm currently working on two fun woodland themed books...one for a boy and one for a girl. I can't wait to share those when they are finished as well.

Recent Name Albums

I've been working on a fair amount of Name Albums since the holiday rush. I always love all the different themes and color combos that people ask for. Here are my 3 most recent and I have 4 more in the works!

Tiff's was my favorite to work on. Not only are the letters easy (bonus), but her book is in my favorite colors :) This was a birthday gift with a best friends theme.

And Simona's album is just as fun with a travel theme and bright adventurous colors.

Braelyn's album was also one of my favorites. As someone with an unusual name, I like making name albums for people who can't find other things with their name on it at a store. That makes these albums even more special :) I also liked Braelyn's album because it was in non-traditional colors for a little girl. Her nursery is decorated in greens and browns with an elephant theme..how fun!

Did you like buying things with your name on it as a child?
I remember going to Silver Dollar City every year and never getting to buy a personalized pencil because they never had my name. Now I can create my own :)

Recent Name Albums

I've recently had the opportunity to create several Name Albums. What I love most about these books is that they are great for any occasion. There are baby books, birthday books, celebration books, etc here.
This first book was fun to create. Not only did I create the book itself, but I designed some of the papers and embellishments to match a Harry Potter theme request.
And I always love when I get to design books in some of my favorite colors. Pink and lime green is just so great. This little girl was so happy with her book :)

And we can't forget the little boys either. This color combo remains to be a favorite for little boys.

This was my favorite book to make recently. I was sent the photos to add to the book. This allows me to design around the photos making sure there is room for all of them. I also allows me to decorate them a little more as I can crop the photos to fit to the page. I love getting to see the books all completed :)

And I have 3 more books in the works as we speak!

Recent Name Albums

I just finished another batch of Custom Name Albums last week and wanted to show you the fun colors I got to work with this time!

I started with Isaiah for a baby boy album. His was a pretty standard baby boy album with light blues and greens, but I threw in a fun brighter blue to mix it up a little. I love the addition of the bright color to a normally pastel color scheme.

Next was Lincoln. His was also a baby boy album, but again, the buyer wanted brighter colors. I found these really fun textured papers in pretty greens, then added that same bright blue. The buyer absolutely loved the dotted papers :)

I also got to do an album in my favorite color combo...pink, purple and aqua for Victoria. Her mom asked me to make it "girly", so I used lots of flowers, butterflies, fun sayings all in these great girly colors.

Have you been working with any fun colors lately?

For the Boys

Along with all my wooden creations and glass etching, I've also been working on several name albums lately. Many of the albums I've made recently have been for little boys. Each one has been in standard boy colors with a little different theme for each one.

This first one is for Brock and his is all boy. Reds, greens and blues for colors and trucks, trains and airplanes for embellishments.

The second album is for Jaxon. Jaxon's is a mix of standard boy and jungle baby. Jaxon's room is decorated in a jungle theme, so his aunt wanted to add a few jungle babies in the book as well.

This Legoland book was a lot of fun to make. I've purchased a few Ninjago items for our nephew's before, but never made a scrapbook with them before. It was fun creating all the papers and embellishments for this book!

Now that I have all the boy books done, it's time to get to work on a special wedding album!

Name Albums - Rethinking Pricing

I've been doing a lot of thinking about my Custom Name Albums lately. I enjoy making them and they are what got my business off the ground. The down side is, they're very time-consuming. Over Christmas I had a large order for them and I got a little burnt out making them. So they've remained out of my shop until I could do some contemplating about how I wanted to reintroduce them.

Over the weekend I sat down and ran some numbers. I knew if I was going to bring the albums back, I had to raise my prices. At first I wasn't going to offer the smaller albums as they take about the same amount of time as the larger albums, but I make a lot smaller profit. But at the same time, I wanted to offer options. So I did some calculations and decided to add both sizes (along with the Double Name Albums) back to my shop.

Before, I just had two price points for my albums...up to 6 letters and 7-9 letters. I decided it made more sense to charge per letter. This does make it a little tricky when listing them in my shop as I didn't want 16 listings of basically the same item. So for now, I'm just adding a few different letter quantity options and people can contact me if they need a different amount of letters.

Eventually I'd like to sort through all my photos and file them by size and letter quantity so the listing photos represent the right amount of letters. But this will be quite time-consuming as well, so it will have to be done in intervals.

I feel pretty good about the prices I have on the albums for both the buyer and myself.
Have you had to do any price increases lately? Pricing is one of the hardest things I find about running a business!

Recent Albums

I've been working like crazy lately on lots of custom orders. One item I've been working extra hard on is Name Albums. Some of you might remember that I helped a friend with a fundraiser for her son's karate school and made Karate Name Albums for them to sell. They took orders and I have 14 albums to make for them!

I've also been working on Etsy orders as well. I have some really cute Grandkids albums to show after the holidays. But today I wanted to show you a couple I shipped out last week. This Family Album is great! I never would have used these colors together, but now that I have, I love them! I'll definitely be using them again!

And this little boy album is just too fun! I was told Hunter's room was decorated in Pottery Barn plaids, so I made the album to match. I love the cars and airplanes matched with the plaids.

I have several more albums in the works right now and I'll be sure to take photos of them when they're done :)

Custom Albums in All Shapes & Sizes

I've been having a lot of fun with my Custom Name Albums lately! I love how each one is so unique and special :) I realized the other day that I haven't shown any of my new albums and I've made quite a few lately!

I recently had a friend ask me about using my name albums for a fundraiser. Her son is in a karate school and the tournaments they participate in can be expensive. They are always looking for new and different ideas for fundraising and she thought my albums would be great for parents as well as other family members! The book is made in the colors of the school and I create each embellishment for the book myself (as finding karate stickers was harder than I thought it would be!)

I also got to create a fun puppy book! This book was for one of my mom's coworkers. She chose lots of fun colors that I paired with puppy print papers. She has bought several of my books for gifts and was so happy she got to keep one for herself :)

I also got to create a Double Name Album. As I've mentioned before, these are a lot of work, but the final result is worth every minute of work put into them! I love to see them completed as they make such a statement with their large size!

I have one more custom album to finish for a local order...and then it's time to stock back up on Premade Word Albums!
