My poor little blog has been quite neglected for the last week or so. But not without good reason...my parents were in town! So I was spending all my free time with them and many other family members.
One of the first things I did was go fishing with my dad! This is something we hadn't gotten to do in far too long and I wanted to make it a priority. It was so great just sitting out on a farm pond soaking up the sun and spending time with my dad. We even caught a few fish :)
After that, I was pretty much terrible about taking any photos of the things we did! But my mom and I made a couple trips to the city to do some shopping and having lunch at places we don't normally get to eat at. I got to see both sets of grandparents and both sides of my extended families as well.
My town hosts a huge Labor Day celebration each year. This year we even had a carnival again. We had them when I was a kid, but it had been several years since we'd had one. It was great seeing the kids play and have fun :) (again, sorry, no photos!) And Monday there was a big parade and a demolition derby, both tradition.
While there may not be a lot of photos from their visit, there were lots of memories made. And that's what counts, right :)
That's wonderful that you were able to spend a whole week with your family! I love the tank top you're wearing :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect way to spend some time with your loved ones! And congrats on catching those fish :-) Where they on the menu for dinner?
ReplyDeletewell that looks like fun! and great that you got to spend time with your dad fishing! nice catch!! Hope you had a great labor day weekend with family
ReplyDeleteWe have to live our lives before we can have good blog content, right? ;)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great week! <3
You're excused from taking photos! Glad you had a chance to be with your family -- sounds like a good time was had by all!
ReplyDeleteMy blog was neglected too, but I don't have any fish to show for it! =0) Sounds like you had an awesome time with family. That's what matters.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you've had so much time with family lately!
ReplyDeleteIt's great you got to see so much family!
ReplyDeleteI've only successfully fished once. I caught two perch that were about the size of my hand! Yours are much more impressive.
Memories are one of the greatest things about families!! Yay memories!
ReplyDeleteMemories made by the "memories for life" girl? Absolutely! Way to walk the talk :)
ReplyDeleteMemories are what's important! Glad you enjoyed making some new ones with your family! Good job on your catch too!
ReplyDeleteMy dad loves to fish too, but me, not so much lol. It's so nice that you guys got to spend so much time together. That's awesome that your town does a carnival and a parade for Labor Day. Sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love your pink tank top! :)
It sounds like a great week! There is nothing quite like family time in the summer. So many of my favorite memories are from times like these.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had a wonderful time with your family Edi! That is what life is all about. :) Memories never stop being made.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got to spend time with your family. Your blog is there on the computer waiting for you anytime you want it. Your family is only around so often so you need to take advantage of that time and enjoy it. It looks like you did. I however, am not fond of worms, so fishing is not something I would do. Every time someone would get a worm out, I'd run away. Not afraid of snakes or spiders, just earthworms!
