Friday Features - Movember

Welcome to the first day of November! Which also kicks off  the month of Movember, where men grow a mustache for the 30 days of November to raise awareness for men's health including prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health. All while the guys are growing their "mos", they also collect donations to help research for men's health.

 

I donated a pair of my Mustache & Aviator Glasses Cuff Links to a charity raising money for Movember. And there are many others out there donating their items or proceeds from their items to Movember. Here are a few of my favorites from Etsy.

One thing that I think is really cool about this organization is that it is world-wide. These sellers are from all over the globe!

Stache Bash 2013

Over the last month, I've been etching beer mugs for an organization called Mustaches for Kids Omaha. Each year they grow mustaches to raise money for a children's organization and this year it is Make-A-Wish. The guys grow their mustaches for a month and raise money along the way. Each week they have checkpoints and get-togethers to raise more money. Last year they raised over $130k and this year's total came in at over $201k!

On Saturday they had their big Stache Bash where they handed out awards. The "growers" came in costume and the whole event was so much fun! Above you can see "Scottish Fury" and "4X Corn" who were nice enough to pose for a picture for me :)

Jesse's brother and his girlfriend Melissa both came with us. I etched mustache pilsner glasses for us to drink from.

I also made mustache necklaces and rings out of acrylic for Melissa and I to wear. They also make great disguises :)

M4K was a great group to work with. I got lots of great feedback from the guys who purchased mugs and I'm looking forward to working with them again next year!

Friday Features - Mustache Mania

I have to admit, when the mustache craze first started, I really didn't get it. I didn't see why they were so popular and why they were popping up everywhere. But the more I saw them, the more I loved them! They can be cute or manly and just plain old FUN! I now have to admit that I've joined the mustache mania and added started creating with them myself!

 

I just listed these Mustache Cuff Links in my shop this week.

And after the new year, I'll have a necklace a couple different pair of earrings as well!

So today's features are all about the 'stache :)
