New Roof-Part 2

Sorry I haven't gotten an update about the house posted lately! Busy, busy, busy lately!

We did get the rest of the metal on the roof! We've gotten many complements on it already :) We still need to get the ridge vent, ridge, and all the side pieces on yet, but it's still a good start!

And of course I've been taking pictures along the way of the work...and they guys working :) Not sure they like it, but hey...I need pics for the scrapbook!

We also got the siding torn off Saturday and Jesse started taking out windows on Tuesday...but I'll keep those pics for another day...I guess I wanna keep you waiting...LOL :)

Summer Night Walk

Harley and I decided to take a nice, relaxing walk before the sun set...and the scary animals came out!

Blue and Chevy even decided to join us :)

I think Harley can find every mud puddle around to drink from...and try and swim in!

Here is the beautiful view we had on our way back to the house.

And the moon shortly after our return.

It was a great walk and I'm glad I took Harley out and about. With me starting back to work today, our time together will be shorter. And when I go back to night shift, there won't be anymore summer night walks. I'm sure glad I brought my camera to remember our fun little walks :)

Happy Labor Day!

We've been having a great weekend so far :) The golf tournament on Saturday was a success. We got the siding stripped off the house! And today we might try and get windows put in the house! If I have time, I hope to get to the flea market and demolition derby :) Have a great Labor Day everyone!!!

Okay, I've been telling you long enough that I would share my pics from the lake...so here they are :)

I met Sadie at the bar on our last night. My nickname has always been Legs...but I think she put me to shame! She was so cool and nice :)

Of course I took more than this, but I didn't think you wanted to be here all day...LOL :)

Friday Features-Labor Day Weekend

Here in the little town of Essex, Iowa...Labor Day is probably the biggest event all year long! Our celebrations start on Friday and don't end until Monday night! Our little town of 1,000 grows 10 fold!

So in honor of the big celebration, I bring you some fun features about what Labor Day means to me :)

On Saturday I will be working at a golf tournament selling refreshments. When I saw these adorable Fancy Tees from JudyCootie I knew I had to share them :)

Monday is filled with lots of events! The entire day there is a flea market in the park. This Cottage Sign by FamilyAttic caught my eye right away :) I hope to find myself some treasures this year!

Also on Monday is the big parade...complete with lots of marching bands, floats, fire trucks and horses...along with lots of other fun entries. Isn't this On Parade Thank You Card by SaraJaneStudios super cute!!!

One of the last events of the weekend is the demolition derby. I'm a little bummed my cousin won't be in it this year, but this cool Pile Up print from GiminiComplex can help me remember the years that he did participate.
