In Memory

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend! I got to spend lots of time with my family, which to me is what any holiday is about...FAMILY :)

I got a neat request the other day to replace a part on a wind chime. The buyer had ordered the wind chime with a custom hanger, but didn't like at all how it turned out. She sent me a photo of  the original and told me what changes she wanted made and I created her a new hanger. She loved it :)

I got a very nice message from my buyer telling me how perfect the new hanger was and that it saved the wind chime that she would be giving as a gift.I then got a little teary-eyed when she told me that the wind chime would be given to her friend in memory of her 2 day old baby that had just passed away last month! I was so honored that I got to help make this gift so special!

Any time I think I'm just creating scrapbooks and engravings, I get a message like this that reminds me that I'm helping to preserve memories! And it makes me stop and remember my own family and give them an extra hug when I see them!

Remembering Our Sidney

Yesterday marked the 4 year anniversary of our sweet Sidney's passing. I can't believe it's really been 4 years!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She was the best big sisfur Harley could ask for :) How many Pomeranians get to beat up on a Rottweiler on a daily basis...LOL! No wonder he thinks he's 7 feet tall!
I was so happy I made sure to get a "family picture" before her passing. This photo isn't the best..the wind was blowing and the sun was in our eyes...but it's a wonderful photo because it's of my family :)
These photos show exactly how I will always remember our sweet girl! She always laid with her paws crossed...too cute :)
I like doing these posts on my furbabies that have crossed the bridge. Not to make anyone sad, but to remember. I always want to remember my sweet furbabies that are no longer with us and looking through old photos this week has put a huge smile on my face :)
Custom Rememberance/Memorial Albums
I recently made 6 Custom Memorial Albums for a friend at work who had a brother pass away a few years ago. She wanted one for each member of her family to keep special photo of him in. She thought it would be a great way to share the photos and keep them out all year so they get looked at more often :)
This is the second time I've been asked to make a rememberance album and I think they are a great idea! What better way to remember those we've loved and lost! I decided to add these as a Custom Listing to my shop. I love custom work because I get to work so closely with my customers, but these albums are extra special. When someone asks you to make them something so personal and close to their heart, it really makes you feel special too!
Remembering Pandi
One year ago today, my little sisfur crossed the bridge. She was 17 years old and lived the best life a dog could have asked for :) And she had the best parents who loved her dearly!!!
I went thought my old pictures this weekend and found some of Pandi growing up. It was so fun to reminisce and see her as a pup again :) I thought I'd share a slide show I put together.
To Mom, Dad and Lucky: You are in my thoughts today!
2009 Memories-EtsyBloggers Blog Carnival
For this week's EtsyBloggers Blog Carnival hosted by BeadedTail, one of the topics we were asked to write about was: Now that 2009 has come to a close, what will you remember most about last year?
2009 was a wonderful year filled with so many wonderful memories :) I truly believe that each year just gets better! I would have to say the most memorable thing about 2009 was being laid off. Now I know this doesn't sound so wonderful, but it may have just been the best 6 months of my life!!!
I must first start off by saying that I am very grateful to be back to work now! In today's economy, jobs are hard to come by and I am very fortunate to have mine back.
That being said...I really did enjoy my time off! I was able to have a normal schedule. I was able to workout every day. I was able to take Harley on walks. I was able to meet up with friends for lunch or dinner. I was able to deep-clean my house. I was able to scrapbook ALL DAY!!! My time off was amazing and I never want to forget how much I enjoyed having my days free :)
I created this layout to help me remember.
I encourage you to find the good in a bad situation and embrace it :)
