Can I?

YES YOU CAN!
No matter the question...the answer is YES :)
~~~~~~
90% of my business is run on custom orders. I offer a wide range of custom or personalized items in my shop and each one can be customized in so many different ways. I've recently had quite a few requests for variations on some of my current designs.
Can I have a special font? YES YOU CAN :)
I had a recent customer request that I use a certain font that they had been using for all of their wedding items. They told me the font they wanted and I made it happen...no problem :)
Can I have a special graphic? YES YOU CAN :)
I made a super cute Engraved Leather Album with Horton from Horton Hears a Who. The little photo adds so much to the album :)
I also made a set of cuff link blanks with Kermit the Frog on them...another fun idea!
Can I get it in a landscape format instead of portrait? YES YOU CAN :)
I recently started making my guest books in a larger size. I made the larger ones in a vertical format so it would hold horizontal photos. But I had a request for a horizontal one in the larger format. A few quick format changes and it was done...no problem :)
I absolutely love custom orders! Even though a lot of what I make is similar or has the same original format, custom requests keep things fun and fresh! Each piece is always an original :)
New Ideas...They Just Keep Coming
I just can't keep my brain from working over time! I've had a pretty nasty cold this week, but my brain refused to stop working...a good problem to have I guess :)
~~~~~~
I've come up with two more new ideas for my Etsy Shop that I just love! As I talked about on Monday, looking at our own shops can be the best place to find inspiration! Expand on existing lines and come up with new ideas :)
This Recipe Book uses the same concept as my guest books, but it has cute little kraft-colored recipe cards inside :) And of course, it can be personalized upon request!
I've also been working on a line of engraved baby photo albums as well. This Woodland Baby Album is next in the series! I love the woodland theme on the wood cover...how perfect!
I'm sure I'll be back soon with more ideas for you to see :) This brain of mine just keeps on tickin'!

Have you been expanding on any current lines in your shop or creating any new projects? Tell me about them in the comments :)

Search Ads - Week Two Review

Last week I did a review about Etsy's new Search Ads. You can read about it HERE.
Today I'll give a review about how the second week went.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week was even more discouraging than last week. This week I had a total of 36 Views and only 2 Favorites compared to last week's 42 Views and 5 Favorites. Not really worth $10 if you ask me!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But here is what I did learn...
My most views came from my scrapbooks. Photo Albums and Albums were my highest viewed keywords. And my Custom Birthday Album and Custom Bare Chipboard Album were my two highest viewed listings.
My Engraved Guestbooks and Wood Greeting Cards weren't far behind, so that makes me happy as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This has made me take another look at my tags and titles. The keywords that didn't get any views will be reviewed and revised.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the end, I won't be renewing my ads for another week, but might give the ads another try after the first of the year...who knows. I do think there are better ways to spend advertising money. And this got my mind thinking that if I'm willing to spend $10 on search ads...why not spend it on other forms of advertising. So this was a good learning experience, but not one I'll be doing again soon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What did you learn from search ads? Will you continue your ads?
Beautiful as a Butterfly
I had a fun custom order this week for an Engraved Baby Photo Album. The customer wanted a scrapbook style album instead of a photo album and I happened to have this cute album on hand!
There is a magnetic flap holding the album shut with the word Baby stitched on. It's a cute album by itself, but the engraving adds so much! And you can't go wrong with a personalized gift :)
I've had really great luck with all kinds of photo albums. I love how they laser a pretty brown. These butterflies came out so great!
You know how much I love custom work and this album was so fun to make!
