Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Every year when Cinco de Mayo rolls around, it sends my mind back to my trip to Mexico :)

In 2000 a group of students took a trip to Merida and lived with families! We then got to spend a day in Acumal and enjoy the beach :) We got to see so much and learn so much while we were there! I took hundreds of pictures and scrapbooked tons of layouts...I probably should have just done a mini album for the trip!

In honor of Cinco de Mayo, I thought I'd share a couple of my layouts with you :)

Now keep in mind that I made these back in 2000. You can definitely see how far my scrapbooking has come in those 9 years!

It's always fun to look back on those old layouts. It doesn't really matter how corny they look with stickers just stuck all over the page and writing all over the place. What matters are the memories...that's what scrapbooking is all about after all :) Enjoy the layouts!

Treasury Thanks :)

My New Do :)

I finally did it...I finally cut my hair!!! I have had the same hair cut since I was in about 8th grade! Straight, all one length, long...in a word: Boring! I started adding some layers in the last year or so and started parting it on the side rather than down the middle a few years back, but it's still the same cut no matter how you look at it.

For you to understand why I haven't ever cut my hair, I thought you needed to see this photo:

My 4th grade school portrait...hideous hair cut! Thanks Mom!!! This hair cut was not my choice...but Mom thought it looked so cute...GAG! So cute in fact that I had to get my ears pierced so everyone would know I was a girl! From the time I started growing it out after this...it has been the same. I was too afraid to ever cut it again!

But yesterday I got brave. So brave in fact my hair stylist didn't know if she could do it...which I thought was funny :) She took off about 6" in all!!!

It must be something in the air because Harley got his hair cut this week too. Doesn't he look cute :)

Happy {inter}National Scrapbooking Day!!!

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy {inter}National Scrapbooking Day today!!! I was going to post a list of websites having specials today...but there are just too many to list! I guess that's a good thing :) So just do a search and you will find a great assortment of sites that are celebrating today!!!

I will be scrapbooking all day today...but that's no different from any other day :) And tomorrow I am going to teach a 4-H club how to make handmade greeting cards :) I hope you find time to celebrate today too :)
