The Big 6-0

 I want to wish a very special man a Happy, Happy Birthday today! Happy Birthday Dad! Today is my dad's Big 6-0 :)

Our family has had quite a crazy year, so it's great to have wonderful things to celebrate. I only wish I were there to celebrate with my dad in person and give him a big hug!

I never know what to buy my parents for gifts, so I always try to make them a special card. For my dad's birthday I played up the milestone birthday and cut the "card" in the shape of the number 60. I engraved a special message on it to finish it off.

Today is my boyfriend's 36th birthday...Happy Birthday Jesse :)

You've heard me mention before how much I love my customers and their requests and the timing couldn't have been more perfect on this one! I got a request for a wood card with a monster truck on it. And if you remember from this Wordless Wednesday, Jesse just bought another huge truck recently!

The wording is corny, but hey, I'm kinda corny :)

It was fun to get to make him a special card and I love the little cut out heart :)

 No big plans for a celebration, but I'm sure we'll get to celebrate this weekend!

Yesterday was my birthday and it was a great day!

Jesse cooked me breakfast!

And I received this awesome surprise in the mail from my friend Rose of RandomCreative! She created this beautiful bracelet, ring and charm set in my favorite colors! Such a thoughtful gift!

And last night we celebrated Easter with Jesse's family, which also doubled as my birthday party :) His family is always so much fun to be with!

Happy Birthday to my Brother

I want to wish my brother a Happy 33rd Birthday today!

We went to lunch together on Friday and it was so nice to spend time together just the two of us :) My brother and I work different shifts and always seem to be busy on the weekends, so we don't get to see each other as much as I'd like. Our time together is always special :)

I've made several of these lasered wood cards lately and I have SO many ideas for premade and custom cards to add to my shop! I have even thought a lot about trying to get them in local shops if I can find a pen or marker that will work well so people can sign their names. When ordered from my Etsy Shop, they will be able to have me engrave their special message or have the option of adding a photo like this one I made for my brother.

I really think I'm on to something here...what do you think? Would you send one of these or enjoy receiving one in the mail? I would really love to hear your thoughts :)

He's since trimmed his beard, but I just love this photo :) And the next time I see my parents will be over Christmas break. I sent him a note today letting him know he's getting the biggest hug in exactly 44 days!

I want to wish a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my best friend Melanie :) It's so much fun when your best friend's birthday is only 10 days after yours!!!

Last year we had a big party in our shed and this year we got together for Mexican (and ice cream)!

Melanie and I have been friends since our Freshman year of high school. We sure did know how to have a good time :) And when you get the two of us together...the blonde really comes out...LOL! Her family has become my second family. They were even generous enough to let me stay with them while I went through a little rebellious streak (okay, BIG rebellious streak!) in high school. We are so much alike it can be scary! But we love it that way :)

I can't wait to stand up with her at her wedding as her maid of honor! It really is an honor!!! I think she's a little scared about what I might say in my toast...LOL! So many good stories...how do I just choose one?!?

My Baby Turns 4 Today!!!

Wow...has it really been 4 years already! Jesse gave Harley to me as a birthday present almost 4 years ago! (Yeah, he does pretty good sometimes :) I got a fridge that year too!!!)

Harley has brought so much joy to our lives :) I can't imagine not having him with us everyday! He is such a character with quite the personality! His quirky traits make him so special to us :)

I thought I'd share some photos of my baby over the last 4 years :)

Birthday Memories

This month for the EtsyBloggers Blog Carnival one of the options to blog about is a favorite birthday memory, wish, or gift. And if you've been reading my blog...you know I love my birthday :) So instead of choosing one special memory or gift, I thought I'd show you the last 8 birthdays and why they were special. (Okay...really only 7 because apparently my 20th birthday wasn't special! How could that be!)

This is from my 19th birthday. It was the first year Jesse and I lived together during my birthday. He came home from work with this ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. And the best part...he doesn't eat sweets...so I got the whole cake to myself :) Pretty thoughtful if you ask me :)

Like I said above...we'll just skip over my 20th since I don't have any pics and can't quite remember it!

But of course my 21st was a big one :) This is the layout I made to celebrate it. We went to eat at Hooters and they made me stand on a chair with that hideous red dress while they sang to me! Then we went to a comedy club where a hypnotist was performing...he's the big guy in the blue shirt I'm standing with. Yup...I got my picture taken with him afterwards :)

For my 22nd I made this layout to remember 22 things about me at 22. I really wish I would have made one of these every year so I could see how my life had changed within the last year.

My 23rd was pretty special! Not only was this the only year my parents have been home for my birthday since they moved, but I got really good gifts! As you can see in the He Loves Me layout...I got my Harley boy and a fridge!!! And I had to make a special layout to show that I got to spend the day with my entire family :) A very special birthday :)

My 24th was the first year we had a big celebration in our shed. My cousin's girlfriend's birthday is the day before mine, so we decided we deserved a party :) This is the two of us at the festivities!

For my 25th we went to Vegas! My first trip and it was awesome :) Just the two of us having a blast!

And if you're a regular reader...you know I had even more fun at my 26th!!! My best friend and I have birthdays 10 days apart...so a party was definitely needed :) And not only that, but on the actual day of my birthday, Jesse took me out for supper...where his whole family was there to surprise me :) One of the sweetest things he's done for me...I almost cried!!!

I know...a long post...but can you see why it was hard for me to choose a favorite! What do you think next year will bring...

My Birthday Surprise :)

Okay...I have officially decided that I have the greatest boyfriend in the world :) Not only did he clean his entire shed for me so I could have my birthday party there...last night he took me out to eat. Okay...lots of boyfriends do that right. But when we got there...almost his entire family was there too! He had planned a surprise party for me at the restaurant! This is so not like him either! #1...he's not a planner at all #2...he doesn't do surprises and #3...he did it all by himself :) I was so surprised and so happy!

The rest of my birthday had really been pretty blah and I just kind of hung out at home. So this made it even more special :)

Okay...last birthday post...I promise. I'll have a scrapbook post for you all tomorrow :) It's funny because Jesse and I were just discussing that I don't have a birthDAY...I have a birthWEEK...I tend to celebrate all week long when my birthday rolls around :) So thanks for bearing with me as I celebrated all this week!

If you're a regular reader of my blog...you've probably figured out that today is my birthday :) I'm one of those people that doesn't make you remember my birthday...because I tell you well in advance that it is coming...and continue to remind you up until the day! It doesn't matter if I'm having a milestone birthday or not...I celebrate either way :) I just love birthdays!

I thought I'd share with you all the wonderful cards I've gotten so far from all my friends and family :)

I've also gotten some candles, some lotion, and money$ :) And I still have a dinner out waiting for me from my in-laws :) yay!
