Father's Day Preview

Mother's Day may have just been last weekend, but as business owners, it's never too early to start planning ahead for the next holiday. Father's Day will be here before we know it and I'm determined to be ahead of the game this year!

Last year I had this beer mug available and this year I'm expanding the selection to pint glasses and pilsner glasses as well.

I've also relisted these Dad's Kitchen & Grill Master cutting boards, which are perfect for Father's Day.

Last year I designed some wood cards, but never got around to making samples and getting them listed in the shop...ugh! This year I'm on top of my game and have 3 cards made and photographed! I'm working on getting everything listed this week/weekend.

Have you started prepping your shop for Father's Day?
Have any other ideas for my shop?

Ready to Start the Week

I'm not usually a "Monday person", but today I'm ready to start the week! I have so many projects I'm working on that have me so excited :) I had a great, productive weekend and I'm hoping this week is much of the same!
I currently have 38 Custom Name Albums on order...WHOA! They consist of *20 Sorority Albums (my first wholesale order)
*12 Girl Scout Albums
*And 6 separate albums that will be given as Christmas gifts
Over the weekend I got an order for 39 Wine Glasses and 8 Coaster Sets from one person! The wine glasses will go in sets of two along with a bottle of wine as a company gift. I'm etching the company's logo on the glasses for them :) And the owners sister ordered the coasters to give as wedding and Christmas gifts! I'll be sure to blog about this more as I get it completed!
And I got a sample Etched Pint Glass done to send to my mom's employer. They give pint glasses in sets of 4 for service award gifts with their company logo on them. If they like the sample, they'll be ordering 100 Glasses in February!!!
I've also been getting quite a few orders at work as well. I've sold 11 glasses in varying designs and 5 Engraved Wood Photos. I'm also going to make a box for a coworker that he'll give his dad with his brothers picture on it. His brother passed away a few years ago and he wanted something special to keep his ashes. I was so honored when he asked me to make the box for him :) I'll definitely be blogging more about this as well!

Expanding My Business Again!

Back in February I purchased a laser engraver and I've been having so much fun with it ever since! By far the best investment I've made for my business. Since purchasing the laser, I've been wanting to get a rotary attachment for it as well. The rotary is an add-on for the laser that allows me to engrave round objects like wine glasses, champagne flutes, candle votives and vases!
Well...IT'S HERE!!!!
I got my rotary last week and finally got to play with it yesterday! All I can say is WOW!!!
It was so easy to set up (once I figured out how to get the crumb tray out...blonde moment)! I was lasering in no time!
I tried a pint glass first and it came out awesome! But I quickly found out how hard it is to photo glass! So I apologize for the terrible photos. I promise they're awesome in person :)
Next I did a candle votive and again...awesome! I love that I can etch all the way around things!
The blue champagne flute is by far my favorite! I have to get my hands on some more of these glasses! The peacock just belongs on this flute!
Next I tried a large wine glass and goblet...not so awesome :( These are heavier on one end and aren't as level as the other items I tried. Sometimes the wheels wouldn't turn, other times they would turn too fast. I will have to look for better glasses and do some more practicing.
This rotary is going to be so awesome! Everyone I tell about it wants custom glasses! And I think I already have about 10 orders for Christmas presents :) I better hurry up and get this thing figured out...LOL!
You can be sure this won't be my last rotary update! And hopefully next time I'll have better photos!!!
