This month's Blogging Business Artisans Challenge theme is brought to us by Erika of Artful Rising. Our theme is Back to School: Back to school supplies, clothes, accessories, art, anything related to the back to school madness!
I love to find ways to use up supplies that are left from other projects. When I make my guest books, I get three pieces of paper that I use as my pages from them, but I'm also left with a 5.375"x5.375" piece as well as a 3"x5.375" piece as well. My mini notebooks are perfect for using up the smaller left over pieces!
I came up with 4 new designs for this challenge as I thought they'd all make cute notebooks to send the kids back to school with.
This Live Out Loud Notebook would have been perfect for me when I was in school :)
And the Bright Ideas Notebook is great for any student...young or old :)
Now if I could just figure out what to do with the 5.375" square pieces! Any suggestions?

Very cute! Perfect for back to school.
ReplyDeletevery cute! Would the square pieces be big enough for coasters? {:-D
ReplyDeleteSmart! You always have clever ideas, Edi. I use a lot of my leftover bits to make smaller earrings and necklaces.
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute! My favorite is the light bulb. I'm always saving scraps from projects, but never seem to find something to do with them. That's such a great idea that you were able to use scraps and turn them into such fabulous little notebooks!
ReplyDeleteGreat notebooks!! The Bright Ideas one is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteAnd how resourceful -- finding a great use for scraps! (I'm always trying to think of new ways to manage and use up fabric scraps -- just can't bear to throw them away.)
Would the 5+ squares work for "brag books" - mini photo albums? (We grandmas collect quite a few school pictures, even though most of the photos these days are digital.) Or maybe a "Notes to Self" notebook?
I'm still in the planning stages for my August Challenge project.

Those are great little notebooks! Could the square pieces be used for mini-frames with magnets on the back for people to put on fridges or something?
ReplyDeleteWhat a very cool idea! I would've loved to carry such a unique notebook to school.
ReplyDeleteThose notebooks are so cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the light bulb! Very smart to use up the leftovers too -- I have a bag of tiny balls of leftover yarn that come in handy from time to time!
ReplyDeleteI like previous suggestions for the 5" square pieces -- just what I was thinking of too!
Very cute--just in time for all those back to school needs.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that these notebooks help you use up those little scraps! They're perfect for school.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great little back to school idea!
ReplyDeleteDropping by via the Etsy Blog Team. I'd love to have you link this up on my blog hop. I host with 2 other bloggers, so your link will show up on three blogs :) Hope to see you there! http://www.hideousdreadfulstinky.com/2012/08/eat-make-grow-thursday-blog-hop-2.html
I love mini notebooks. They're perfect for putting in your bag when your out and about because you never know when you'll get inspired and want to jot something down. I know a lot of people use phones or blackberries for that, but I prefer to have a notebook so that I can jot AND sketch. Not sure what to do with the square pieces. I'm sure you will think of something; you're so creative! :)
ReplyDeletelove the lightbulb and the small size for carrying around in your purse.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to use up scrap! I'm loving that compas rose one:)
ReplyDeleteI love these! Mini notebooks are always so nifty :)
ReplyDeleteLove these! It is a perfect way to give that leftover paper new life!
ReplyDeleteI love these little books, Edi! Live out loud is my favorite, I think. About that scrap piece? Cut it in half and add 3 pegs for discs in graduates sizes. Why? Make two "Tower of Hanoi" games. Here's a link to what this is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_of_Hanoi
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the mini books and using up leftovers! Great idea and cute book!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...
