My first fall craft show is just 2.5 weeks away! How the heck did that happen! From September to November, I am signed up for 4 shows and it's time to start getting ready NOW!
As I make more and more new items, I also have to come up with new ideas for displays. Last year I took some of my Wood Wine Bottle Stoppers with me to shows, but they looked like the image above...a mess! So this year I wanted something to help them stand out and be seen easier.
This is what I cam up with. I took a coaster holder (that they were in originally) and cut holes in the bottom with my laser.
Now they look more organized, but I'm still not sure they stand out much. I'm thinking of painting the coaster holder so the stoppers stand out more and then putting a little sign on the front of the box that says what they are and their price (so I don't have to price each one individually!).
What do you think? Good display or keep working on it?
This is great! And good idea about the sign on the front!
ReplyDelete4 shows? No pressure at all ;-)
Yes painting it would help them stand out. The sign is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work. Good luck with the shows.
A sign is always a good idea. It will be fun to see if someone orders something because of the holder.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, 4 shows!! I wish you many sales Edi!! :)
ReplyDeleteI think painting the coaster holder will look great and the stoppers would stand out more. I think a sign with the description of what they are and price is always a good idea too.
I vote for paint! And yes, just make a sign if all of them are the same price. Save yourself some trouble! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the stopper holder. You are so clever!
ReplyDeleteI think of you as sort of a natural wood girl, so I'd vote no paint. Maybe stain the holding tray a darker color?
Or what about using a pretty empty bottle with a stopper on top, along with a sign? The bottle would grab their attention.
4 shows!! Yikes, Wonder Woman! I'm stressing over one!
Yes, I'd definitely paint the holder, but what a great display piece!
ReplyDeleteIt's a great display! You might want some in a bowl still, if you have room. So people can pick them up. Touchy-feely! {:-D
ReplyDeleteLove the new display for you wine bottle stoppers!
ReplyDeleteI have my first show of the season at the end of September so I'm now gearing up for that. Love this season!
Good luck with all those shows -- I'm sure you'll do well!
ReplyDeleteI think the holder needs to be darker, either painted black or stained really dark. I like LeAnn's bottle suggestion.
Just thought of something else -- if you use a wine bottle to show off a cork, why not make your sign as if it were the label? Just print it up and glue it over the original label!!

Yes, staining/painting the box a little darker might work, and engraving the item and price on the box is a great idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative display idea! I do think painting it is a good idea so the stoppers stand out. I wish you much success with the shows and I hope you have a lot of fun with them too! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the display! Can you stain it? That way it maintains the wood grain, but isn't the same color as the stoppers.
ReplyDeleteThis is a luxury display :) The wood is beautiful and the stoppers look very stylish.
ReplyDeleteThe display is great! I hope that the stoppers do well this year.
ReplyDeletePerfect display. I agree that maybe painting the display will make each piece show up more. You are bound to sell more with this neat display!
ReplyDeleteI think this looks great! I would paint it for contrast & also have a weighted wine bottle standing nearby with a stopper inserted for explanation.
ReplyDeleteWow, I love all of the things you can do with wood! If I lived in The States I would definitely order a pendant! :) Danica
ReplyDeleteI agree with Pasqueflower. But you can tell best. They stand out to me in the photo. A sign with a price would make it very clear.
