First Wedding Invitation Order

I am beyond excited...I sold my first set of Wood Wedding Invitations!!! And not only that, I got to create a custom design for this first order!
I also got to design RSVP Cards for these as well. I hadn't even thought to offer these, but they look awesome on the kraft cardstock! I'll definitely be adding these as an option to my current listings (as soon as I find time!)
And I found out that people like this photo...
better than this photo for the thumbnail image on Etsy.
I've gotten a lot more views since changing the first photo to the close up. Makes me wonder if I should do this to more listings???

  1. Congratulations Edi! How exciting. Those invitations look great.

I agree about the close-up. It makes me think about my photos; sometimes the thumbnails don't look as good as you think they will based on the large picture.

  2. Awesome!

I think the closeup gives the viewer a sense of texture and thickness--it's as if you could pick it up and look at it.

  4. Lovely! Congrats on the wedding invites. The tree is very neat. I like both photos the second one shows off the product better. As a buyer I like that. The first one is arty and maybe catches their attention? So having both in the listing is good.

  5. maybe they like to see the thickness... I usually use a close-up for my first view. And having a set is such a good idea for a wedding planner to see! Love the leaves on the tree! {:-D

  6. great invitations and RSVP cards!
There's something rustic about them and I think the white flowers detracts from this. ...although, I bet there are some people who would like the flower photo better.
I agree with the comments above.

  7. I love the idea of an engraved wood invitation -- what a keepsake! And the RSVP card is a stroke of genius! I think the close up photo leads people into the picture and gives a sense of mystery.

  8. That's so awesome Edi! And you know...I've been thinking about our guest book cover design for a while now. I ended up doing a plaid background on our invites which I emailed so I was stumped about this. But you know, I LOVE that new design and think this might be a winner! We'll discuss more later:)

  10. Isn't it funny that it is the closeup that is now on the front page? I guess that is what people like.
    Great invitations.

  11. Congrats on the sale! The RSVP cards will be a great addition. It just depends whether I use a close up for the first shot or not. Sometimes it works really well and other times it doesn't, so I frequently experiment with it.

  12. Fantastic! The guests are going to love receiving these! The angled shot looks great and makes you want to click on the listing. I think it is due to the texture showing up more.
