I just thought I'd get that out of the way so I'm not confusing people :)
This is my BEAUTIFUL NEW BIRTHDAY PRESENT!!!
On our first Christmas together, Jesse bought me a diamond ring. It was the best gift ever! I've worn this ring for 11.5 years now and the band recently broke...it was time for an upgrade :) We made the decision a long time ago that marriage just wasn't something that was important to us. We don't plan on having a family and we're very happy with the way our relationship is :)
Last Monday we went shopping for a new ring! It's really a pretty funny experience to shop for an "engagement" ring when you're not getting engaged...LOL! When you tell the jeweler that you're looking for a diamond, they immediately congratulate you. Once you explain that you're not getting engaged...they don't really know what to say. We had fun messing with some of them...LOL :)
This is the ring we chose...isn't is stunning! I can't stop looking at my finger!!!
The center setting is actually made up of 4 separate diamonds. There are 11 more diamonds on the band surrounding the setting. I've always loved princess cut diamonds and this has 15 of them!!!
~~~~~~
Jesse even took me to Red Lobster last night to celebrate :) I couldn't quit smiling! I've wanted an "upgrade" for a while now and this is just perfect :)
Your ring is stunning, Edi! I'm so glad that you're so happy with it.
ReplyDeleteits beautiful! and i'm glad to hear you are happy with it. :)
ReplyDeletei am in the same boat with you. i don't plan on ever getting married, and probably never having a family of my own. it feels kind of nice to see that i'm not the only blogger out there with this mind set, among so many other mommybloggers and wedding themed things (not that i have anything against those things, it just isn't me).
Beautiful ring Edi! I understand your views on weddings. You and Jesse are perfect for each other and you don't need a piece of paper to confirm the love you two share.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think that marriage is wonderful:)
ReplyDeleteBeing with someone is hard and it is great that you are both in agreement; otherwise, it would be stressful.
Your ring is beautiful!!
It's so pretty! Very simple and classy.
ReplyDeleteHopefully you'll pardon my congratulations from the other day! (I blame the media for telling me that diamonds = wedding, haha.) Although, I guess I could still congratulate you on the new bling, because that's pretty awesome. :-)
the ring is absolutely gorgeous! That's a very happy birthday to you. And dinner at Red Lobster too - I like eating there but usually can afford only an appetizer! {:-D
ReplyDeleteWow, it's beautiful!! Diamonds and Red Lobster...sounds like a perfect celebration to me!
ReplyDeleteLove it!!! The ring is perfect Edi, great birthday present!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ring!! I'd say Jesse is a keeper, with or without a marriage license.
ReplyDeleteThe ring is gorgeous, Edi! It's timeless and stylish.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been fun shopping for it :)
Edi, it's a classic. Very fun!
ReplyDeleteThe ring looks great. It's actually really nice to see a blogger mention that they aren't getting married or on their 3rd child and super content with their relationship. I find the older I get the more pressure you get from friends and family to have a marriage and completely ignore the fact that you have a happy relationship with a partner without it. Congrats to you.
ReplyDeleteThat ring is gorgeous Edi, so lovely I wouldn't be able to take my eyes off of it either! Scott bought me a ring this past Christmas, the first ever since we were married 17 years ago! I'm still admiring it... ;) And way to go, figuring out what works for you and going with it. Seems to be working for you. :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous ring Edi! You guys sound like Jim and I. We do not plan to marry unless it makes sense financially and it seems better to not marry! I have made the decision to not have children so we have a perfect situation!
ReplyDeleteWow! I LOVE the 4 diamonds together in the center, I don't think I've ever seen one like that - it's beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ring, Edi! The 4 diamonds in the center are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty ring!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I loved picking out my engagement and wedding rings so I'm sure you had the same thrill shopping for yours.
ReplyDeleteWell, you know, after 11.5 years with the same guy, you deserve it! LOL. It's so beautiful and I'm so happy for you that you love it so much!! What a great gift (and guy)! I would have enjoyed messing with the jewelers too!
