Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend

As we all know, girls love diamonds! And what better month to celebrate them than April!
Who knew diamonds came in so many forms and styles. I went searching on Etsy and found beautiful, dream-worthy engagement rings, raw cut diamonds, metal shaped diamonds and even diamonds made of concrete! There is definitely something for everyone and every budget here. Enjoy :)

Which style of diamond is your favorite?
Anyone want to buy me that ring :)

Reader Inspiration

I have to give a shout out to one of my readers and fellow BBA team members...Ayla!

I recently showed off my cute "diamond" earrings and got a reply from Ayla that she thought a larger diamond would make a cute design for a ring! Brilliant...I loved the idea!

I had bought some ring blanks a while back and quite honestly forgotten about them. I tried out a few, but never got back into using them. The new "diamond" ring in my shop is all thanks to Ayla :)

Of course, now my brain is working overtime thinking about all the other cool designs I could turn into rings! I have a feeling my little owl is next on the list!

My Birthday Diamond

Warning: The following content did not come with an engagement, a wedding, marriage, a family or children. LOL :)
~~~~~~
I just thought I'd get that out of the way so I'm not confusing people :)
This is my BEAUTIFUL NEW BIRTHDAY PRESENT!!!
On our first Christmas together, Jesse bought me a diamond ring. It was the best gift ever! I've worn this ring for 11.5 years now and the band recently broke...it was time for an upgrade :) We made the decision a long time ago that marriage just wasn't something that was important to us. We don't plan on having a family and we're very happy with the way our relationship is :)
Last Monday we went shopping for a new ring! It's really a pretty funny experience to shop for an "engagement" ring when you're not getting engaged...LOL! When you tell the jeweler that you're looking for a diamond, they immediately congratulate you. Once you explain that you're not getting engaged...they don't really know what to say. We had fun messing with some of them...LOL :)
This is the ring we chose...isn't is stunning! I can't stop looking at my finger!!!
The center setting is actually made up of 4 separate diamonds. There are 11 more diamonds on the band surrounding the setting. I've always loved princess cut diamonds and this has 15 of them!!!
~~~~~~
Jesse even took me to Red Lobster last night to celebrate :) I couldn't quit smiling! I've wanted an "upgrade" for a while now and this is just perfect :)

Friday Features - Vintage Rings

Yesterday's post inspired these finds. After receiving my great aunt's wedding ring, I went searching on Etsy to find other treasures people has in their shops. I loved finding rings that were similar to mine and found out that this style is called Art Deco. A Treasured Gift

My grandma recently went through her whole house and cleaned and donated a bunch of stuff. In the process, she found some very special pieces of jewelry. One of which she saved for me! I was so honored to receive this ring! This was my great aunt's wedding ring! It is extra special to me because she was my aunt Edith :) She is the aunt I was named after and have always felt a great connection to. I did not know her well as she died when I was very young. But I will carry on her namesake...and now her wedding ring :) I couldn't believe my grandma was giving it to me! Even more, I couldn't believe that it fit like a charm! After giving it to me, my grandma asked if I wanted to put it back in the box. I said "No...I think I'll wear it". And it still sits upon my finger as I type this :) What a great treasure!

Diamonds-EtsyBloggers Carnival

This week's Blog Carnival is brought to us by Cindy of Devine Designs Jewelry and our topics are:

1. April birthstone: diamond- write about it's history, gem info, whether or not you like them, or if this is your birthstone! 2. April Fool's Day: Do you participate? Tell us about a joke you played on someone, or if one has been played on you. What do you think about this "day"? 3. What is your favorite gemstone and why?

Since my birthday is just around the corner in April, I decided to write about Diamonds :) I do love colored gemstones as I'm drawn to color! But my favorite piece of jewelry is the diamond ring Jesse got me over 10 years ago :)

On our first Christmas together, Jesse gave me the ring pictured above :) It was such a special gift and meant so much to me and our relationship! I put the ring on that night and I've worn it everyday since :) The ring means just as much to me today as it did on that Christmas night.

What is your most prized piece of jewelry?

Blog Carnival-Favorite Gift

Our host for the December 18th Blog Carnival, LindaB, gave us these two wonderful options this go around:
1. Holidays - Christmas, Hanukkah & Others, what was your favorite gift received? Was it handmade?
2. What are your favorite color combinations? What do you create using those colors?
I decided to go with #1 :)
I've been given a lot of wonderful gifts over the years! As a kid I got great toys like cabbage patch dolls and a bicycle. As a teenager I got a phone for my room and then my own TV!!! As a young adult I started getting really cool clothes and some great jewelry from my grandma.
But I'd have to say my favorite gift was from Jesse :) On our first Christmas together I got one of the greatest gifts...a diamond ring!!! Not an engagement ring, but just a special ring :) So special that 9 years later it is still on the finger I put it on that night! And if I ever get that upgrade I've been waiting for (hint, hint) it will still remain on my finger...just a different one...LOL :)
It may not be big. It may not have been expensive. But it is mine and he gave it to me...that's all that matters to me :)
